Why visit Porto?

Apart from it being my favourite European city, it's obvious! Port lovers will love it here! The heart of the city's port district is Caves Ferreira, learn about why the beverage important to the area and have a few tastings. If you want to enjoy music with your tasting, visit Calém for Portugese fado music. And, if you want to taste port whiist looking at a stunning view of Porto a visit to Taylor's Cellars is a must  and head to the terrace.   
What's more, Porto is fast becoming one of Europe's best choice for a short break and as such more hotel's are opening here and you can get some great deals.

When should I visit?

Any time of year as Porto generally stays mild all year round.


Fly over the Port district in a cable car; visit Serralves, Porto's Museum of Contemporary Art, get on the back of a motorbike and take a tour of the city; climb to the top of Clerigos Tower to see amazing views and do a spot of people watching on the Cais de Ribera.

Local traditions?

The Regata dos Rabelos, a boat race takes place along the Douro River. And, it's a sight to see with the competion taking place in wooden sailing boats.
