Simple! It is the gateway to Australia's Gold Coast. With three-hundred days of sunshine per year and fifty-seven km of coastline, this is the place to be. Saying that, Brisbane shouldn't be ignored, it has the world's first koala sanctuary!

When should I visit?

Australia's summer, December to February, is the best time to visit with temperatures topping 30 degrees C.

Must-sees?

For shoppers, James Street is a must as its Brisbane's stylish quarter, food lovers out there will adore the Eat Street Markets and afterwards relax in the city's Botanic Garden. After dark Brunswick Street is where everyone is at, thanks to its nightlife.

Local traditions?

The Earth Frequency Festival is a blast with plenty of live music and workshops. It takes place every February.
