Why visit Aberdeen?

Castles! Aberdeenshire is known as Scotland's Castle Country; a visit to ruined but beautiful Dunnotar Castle will offer splendid views of the area.

When should I visit?

Any time as the area offers the best of both worlds! With its close proximity to 3 of Scotland's ski resorts, Cairngorm Mountain, Glenshee and The Lecht, it is great for skiing in winter. And with the area offering 165 miles of stunning coastline to explore, there are great surf opportunities here. Surfers should check out Niggs Bay for some fab waves. And, with stunning deserted beaches all close by, you could have a city break in the countryside too!

Must-sees?

The Winter Gardens in Duthie Park should be included on every tourist itinerary, and look out for the disappearing frog! Hazelhead Maze provides many a puzzle (in getting out lol!) for all the family to enjoy. What's more, kids can meet their favourite animated characters at The Den and Glen.

Local traditions?

The area hosts The Highland Games every year. Set in the picturesque village of Luss, the village will host their own Highland Games on 4th July 2020, and should be a highlight on your travel calendar.
