Why visit Aberdeen?

Castles! Aberdeenshire is known as Scotland's Castle County; a visit to ruined but beautiful Dunnotar Castle will offer awesome views.

When should I visit?

Any time as the area offers the best of both worlds! With its close proximity to three of Scotland's ski resorts, Cairngorm Mountain, Glenshee and The Lecht, it is great for skiing in winter. And with the area offering one-hundred-and-sixty-five miles of stunning coastline to explore, there are great surf opportunities here; check-out Niggs Bay for some fab waves.

With stunning deserted beaches all close by, you could have a city break in the countryside. The Winter Gardens in Duthie Park should be included on every tourist itinerary, and look out for the disappearing frog! Hazelhead Maze provides many a puzzle for all the family to enjoy. What's more, kids can meet their favourite animated characters at The Den and Glen.

Local traditions?

The area hosts The Highland Games every year in the picturesque village of Luss. It is expected the village will host the Games on 3rd July 2021.
